Neil Croswell

Neil’s interest in magic began at the age of 6 when his mother brought him to the local convenience store. He purchased a chocolate egg with a surprise in it. When he opened it he discovered a little magic box that caused a coin to appear and vanish. Neil was hooked and it has stuck with him ever since.

When Neil was 9 he attended a Christmas magic show at the local church and witnessed a magician by the name of Cliff Harden. Neil was spellbound and begged his mother to ask Cliff if he would consider giving magic lessons. Cliff and Neil’s mother exchanged contact information and eventually Cliff took Neil under his wing.

At the age of 11, Neil performed his first magic show at a Mother’s Day party.

A week after turning 13, Neil was one of 11 teenagers from around the world to be selected to compete at the World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas, Nevada. Over the next few years he went on to perform at hundreds of Special Events and Conventions across North America and was witnessed by thousands.

neil-croswell-awardsAt age 16 he was awarded the Greg Frewin Award for 1st place in the junior competition at the Canadian Association of Magicians 2007 convention. This award also signified that he was a teenager to look out for in Canadian Magic. This lead to local appearances on television and in newspapers across Durham and Toronto.

In 2008 he was chosen from several magicians in Toronto to appear in an international Scotia bank commercial promoting their “Bank the Rest” campaign where he showcased his sleight of hand. This commercial was aired several times during such prime television as the Stanley Cup Finals 2 years running and in every Famous Players Theatre Location across Canada.

In his late teens he began to develop a more original, modern approach to magic and won several awards including 2nd at the 2009 Canadian Championships of Magic in Montreal, Quebec. Most recently Neil was hired by Canadian television station YTV to film a series of magic based commercials promoting their several television shows and movies.

In 2010 Neil returned to the Canadian Championships of Magic and became the youngest person to date to win first place in the stage competition. Neil resides in Toronto and is available for almost any event across the GTA and Durham Region.
